Online Tutorials
We have collected some online instructional videos here.
It is our belief that you cannot learn Shibari/Kinbaku by watching videos, we strongly recommend that you get personal instruction from an experienced instructor either in class at an established Shibari/Kinbaku location or as private lessons.
Videos are great for refreshing already learned techniques.
Yukinaga-Ryu
Yukinaga Max from the Copenhagen Shibari Dojo has made a handful of videos showing basic ties, the videos are available for free on Vimeo, and are in English
The videos are mainly to help private students and students at the dojos in Denmark, Oslo and Barcelona to keep the techniques fresh and aligned across all dojos. But have to admit it makes me happy to see that others find them useful too. Just remember that there are many key points in all ties and they are best obtained if you are taught face to face.
And still i think: None of us will ever learn the true Kinbaku from videos, only patterns.
It takes a humble, openminded and hardworking student, and a committed, encouraging and patient teacher, face to face for a long time, in real life to learn the heart and depth in Kinbaku.
Is an international site with a lot of different great instructors, from beginner wrist wraps to advanced suspensions, a goldmine of resources for riggers of all levels.
The site is a pay site, but they offer a 7 day free trial.
The Duchy
An English-language site with a lot of creative bindings, great if you need some new inspiration.
Some of the content is free, others you have to pay for (marked members only)
but definitely worth a visit.
