Ropes & Riggers Signature Reb is our own premium range of classic Japanese asanawa jute ropes (麻縄), created for those who desire high quality, purity, and precision.

Asanawa is the traditional Japanese term for natural fibre rope, used in shibari and kinbaku for its vibrant texture, organic feel, and natural grip. In modern Japanese rope bondage, asanawa is closely associated with tradition, technique, and aesthetics.

Our Signature Rope 4mm is the finest and most precise version in the series. Created for those situations where larger ropes are too bulky, and where details need to be sharp.

The rope is made from 100% Tossa Jute (Corchorus olitorius) and is constructed as a classic three-strand, single-ply asanawa jute rope with a carefully balanced medium-lay construction.

It provides a rope with a lively structure, flexibility, and a strong balance between control and agility.

The narrow diameter makes the rope lighter, faster, and more precise in the hands, making it particularly suitable for:

Signatur Reb is 100% JBO-free and treated with VOT-batch-processed soya oil, which provides a purer experience, a mild natural scent and less irritation.

The fibres have been treated to reduce fibre shedding and make the rope more stable over time.

At Ropes & Riggers, each rope is hand-treated with our own rope paste made from cold-pressed tsubaki oil and Danish beeswax, providing a smoother finish, better control, and a softer contact against skin and hair.

The rope is sold per metre, so you can put together precisely the length you desire.
