Cold-pressed tsubaki oil for jute rope

If there is one oil that most people associate with the care of jute rope, it is tsubaki oil.

Tsubaki oil, also known as camellia oil, has been used in Japan for generations for the care of natural materials. Therefore, it was also a natural choice when we needed to find an oil for our own rope care range.

We have chosen a 100 % cold-pressed tsubaki oil with no additives. It can be used directly on jute rope or as an ingredient if you wish to mix your own rope paste.

We use it ourselves when a rope starts to feel dry or needs a bit of care. It doesn't take much. A few drops are worked into the rope with your hands or a soft cloth, after which the rope is left to rest so the oil can penetrate the fibres.

Why choose tsubaki oil?

Camellia oil helps keep jute rope supple and can help reduce the dryness that natural fibres can develop over time.

Many people also find that the oil makes the rope more pleasant to work with and reduces friction against the hands during the treatment.

Use it your way

You can use tsubaki oil directly on your ropes or as part of your own rope wax recipe.

Many prefer a pure oil, while others combine it with beeswax to make a paste that suits their exact preferences.

Der skal overraskende lidt olie til. Start med nogle få dråber, arbejd dem godt ind i rebet, enten med en klud eller med hænderne og lad rebet hvile lidt. Det giver et bedre resultat end at mætte rebet med olie.
