When we launched our rope pasta with tsubaki oil, it wasn't long before the first customers asked if we could also make a version with jojoba oil.

We actually thought that was a good idea.

We already had a recipe that we were happy with and which we used on our own ropes. Therefore, we didn't change the rope paste itself. The only difference is the oil.

This version is made with jojoba oil, while the rest of the recipe remains the same. That way, you can choose which oil you prefer yourself, without compromising on quality.

We use rope paste when a rope starts to feel dry or loses a bit of the surface that we want to preserve. It doesn't take much. A tiny bit is worked into the rope with the hands, after which it is allowed to rest for a bit before being put back into use.

Why choose rope butter with jojoba oil?

If you already use jojoba oil for your ropes or simply prefer jojoba over tsubaki oil, this version is an obvious choice.

The recipe is the same as our original rope paste. The difference is solely the choice of oil.

How we use it

We don't give our ropes rope wax after every binding.
We use it when a rope starts to feel a bit dry or is in need of a light freshening up.
Take a small amount of paste between your fingers and work it into the rope while pulling it through your hand.
Let the rope rest for a bit before using it again.

Henrik's tip

It takes less than most people think.
Start with a tiny bit of rope wax. About the size of a hazelnut. If the rope still feels dry, you can always apply a little more. It is much easier than removing excess wax again.
